Captain Shane took us on an incredible tour of the Mud Key mangroves and sandbars. As a couple we booked the $99/person three hour shared sandbar tour which was the best deal I could find anywhere around Key West, and we ended up being the only guests on the boat that day. We visited two different locations to explore a natural lazy river through the mangroves, secluded beaches, “Lauren’s swing” that you’ve probably seen on Instagram, and a triple-decker hammock. Captain Shane told us all about the unique mangrove ecosystem and offered to explore with us and take pictures or let us explore on our own. The tour leaves from Hurricane Hole marina on Stock Island which makes for a quick trip out to the sandbar, on our a three hour tour we had plenty of time to explore and relax. It’s a short Uber ride from old town Key West and there’s also a stop at the marina on the Key West Transit bus .

Wow!!!! We took the Dolphin Watching & Sandbar Tour and it was AMAZING!!! We got to see several beautiful dolphins right up close and then we cruised over to a Sandbar…so cool. It’s like a little party in the middle of the Gulf!!! But that wasn’t all…Shane also took us to checkout the mangroves where we got to swim and hang out in a really unique and beautiful environment. Our family did several really fun excursions during our week in Key West, but we all agreed that our tour with Shane was the best thing we did. Highly recommended. Thank you Shane!!!!

Highly recommend Captain Shane! We enjoyed our first charter so much we booked a second day in the same trip! (The same day as our flight departure!) Highly recommended! Last fall we set up a shared sandbar tour with a booking company, and boy did we luck out! Captain Shane was informative, entertaining and just a really great guy. We had such a great time at the sandbars, so naturally when we returned this spring, we booked directly thru Sun Surf and Sand for a Mother's Day cruise. Highlight of our trip, it was such a wonderful Mother's Day! We enjoyed it so much, we booked again for sunset cruise two days later. In addition to being a knowledgeable captain, Shane is also quite the photographer. Some of the best pictures from our trip are the ones he took! We had such a wonderful day checking out multiple sandbars with Captain Shane! Super chill day with great music and beautiful scenery! We most definitely will go out with him again! We loved that he had an option for my husband and I to go as 2, joining another charter/or other single/doubles. It made a charter way more obtainable. Excellent time on this charter boat to a couple of sandbars in Key West! We left from Stock Island, just a few minutes from out hotel on Key West, I think called Hurricane Hole marina. Captain Shane was most helpful in guiding us to unique sandbar spots and tailored the trip to our vibe (went to Mud something and Jewfish sand bar), even including music. This was also a very affordable option, being one of the few shared charters or boats offering less than 4 or 6 passengers in the area. It was also one of the few trips offered at 3 hours instead of 4, which we felt would be too long out in the hot sun. 3 hours was perfect. Shane even took photos of us (after asking) so that we could really relax and enjoy. Highly recommend!

This was a last minute booking and goodness gracious, we are so glad we did! This was an outstanding and memorable experience! Not only were the sandbars absolutely beautiful (and ig worthy!) … Capt Shane was knowledgeable, fun, and did everything he could to ensure we enjoyed ourselves. The boat was comfortable and well kept, the sandbars were stunning, and he capped it off with fun music and very fun boat ride at the end ;) …. Can't say enough great things about Shane and this trip. We did the sandbar & mangrove tour. Our experience with Sun Surf and Sand Charters was exceptional before we ever stepped on the boat. I spoke with Captain Shane prior to booking, and he took the time to answer every question I had—and even a few I didn’t know I should be asking. We booked the Outer Island Sand Bar trip, and it did not disappoint. The entire trip was smooth and relaxed, and Captain Shane took us to three absolutely stunning, incredibly private locations. It felt like we had our own little pieces of paradise. One of the things we appreciated most was that Captain Shane took numerous photos of us throughout the trip. He captured some wonderful memories for us, and that was such an unexpected and thoughtful part of the experience. Captain Shane was also a great local resource. When we asked for recommendations, he happily shared suggestions for restaurants and nightlife all the way from Key Largo to Key West. We absolutely loved this experience. Our Location
Our marina is easy to find and even easier to park at. Located right on the main road with plenty of free on-site parking, it’s a quick in-and-out before and after your trip. Just pull in, park steps from the dock, and hop aboard—no garages, no long walks, and no stress.
